Over a thousand people weathered the sun and joyfully congregated in Bayamón for our first Arts and Health Fair in Puerto Rico. On Saturday, August 4th we offered a wide array of services that included acupuncture, dental exams, health tests as well as entertainment for the entire family.

The event gathered elderly visitors and young families at Bayamón´s main square an area that is in the process of reestablishing itself as an important cultural and commercial hub. This is fabulous, I have enjoyed the music and the company, said Damaris Muniz, a lifelong Bayamón resident.

The Health Fair is the first of a series of efforts under Acacia Network´s leadership that aims to reaching out to the population of part of the mountainous region to the North of Puerto Rico. The institution joined forces with Salud Integral de la Montana and Comité Noviembre to create an event that serves the community with an integral approach to health and wellness.

The lineup included plena ensamble Atabal, the big band for Pena Music Academy in Humacao ‘a very hard hit area’ and Fusion Jonda. Iris Chacon was the master of ceremonies in charge of presenting every act.
